Final Field Finalised

The field for the Dick Kitt Final, to be run on Sunday August 28 at the Huntly Livestock Exchange, has been announced.

Those who have qualified are: Kevin Shanahan, Kerry Ellis, Chook Stewart, Kane Ellis, Rhonda Schultz, Michael Preece, Ben Goode, John Bailey, Reza Azimi, Richard Schultz, Grant Findlay, Mark Perdon, Peter Le Busque, Carol Stewart, Demi Goodall-Hoffman, Ingrid Douglass, Rick Ermel, Simon Hunt, Lachlan Perdon, Adam Parker and Ryan Shelton.

Richard Rises to the Occasion

32 seconds was the margin when Richard Schultz crossed the line in Sunday’s AL Parker Electrical 5k Handicap held at the Wellsford Rifle Range.  For the second week in a row Paul Bennett ran strongly to clinch second place, but never looked likely to catch Richard.

With wife Rhonda having won a race earlier in the season Richard needed to win to get back on level terms and wasn’t going to allow anything to stop him.  Following Paul Bennett in second place was John Bailey in third.

Connor Conquers Again

The most closely contested race of the season finished with a 1 second victory to Connor Findlay in Race 17 of the Junior season.  Connor had also tasted victory in the Race 1 this year.

Connor had to produce his best to win because Isabella Ellis had laid down a challenge with a strong solid performance that gave her every chance of winning herself.  Isabella was only caught in the last 100 metres of the race and then fought on bravely to make Connor earn his win.

Goode Wins Over ... Everyone!

Schoolteacher Ben Goode taught the rest of the field a lesson when winning the Rising Sun Hotel 6.5km event at No. 7 Reservoir on Sunday.  Ben’s emphatic winning margin of 48 seconds meant his victory was never really in doubt.  He hit the front with 1km to run and powered home, leaving Paul Bennett to watch him disappear into the distance.

Jack's Back For His Second Win

Jack Parker became this year’s first Junior runner to win a second race for the season with a strong performance at No. 7 Reservoir on Sunday.  Running further and faster than ever before Jack covered the 1.2km distance in 5:47, just holding off the brother and sister duo Tanner and Jazlin Fear who filled second and third places.
