Georgia Does It Again

In the junior’s 1km event, one win wasn’t enough for Georgia Ryan, as she ran a determined race to finish 1st, which is her second win for the season and also gets her one win ahead of her dad “Dan Ryan”. Sisters Freya and Georgia White ran strongly to finish 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Reza Has The Pleasure of Winning Race 2

Race 2 was a hard-fought struggle between young gun Reza Azimi and former club champion Rick Ermel with both runners vying for first in the 6.5km event at Mandurang. Rick Ermel looked strong going into the final stretch of the race but it was Azimi that had youth on his side which he used to his advantage and surged ahead of Ermel to win the race in a time of 26:01, 18 seconds clear of Ermel. Azimi, a relatively new member, started running with the Bendigo Athletic Club in 2015 where he won the Rising Sun Hotel feature race.

Reigning Junior Champion Collects Another Win

Isabella Ellis had a great win in the 1km Juniors event coming first ahead of Harper-Lee Basten and Freya White. Harper-Lee backed up well after winning the last race but could not hold off the strong and determined Isabella.

A quality field of Juniors lined up for the 1km event with Georgia Ryan coming first ahead of Harper-Lee Basten and Isabella Ellis.

With her Dad Dan having just won the Senior race Georgia decided she couldn't let him have it all his own way and made it 2 from 2 for the Ryan family.

Dan the Man Ryan takes out Race 1

Dan Ryan has made a great start to the Bendigo athletic club cross country season with a convincing win in the 5km sealed handicap event at Wellsford rifle range. Dan’s handicap time smashed the nearest competitor by a huge 1:09 margin. Dan’s actual race time of 18:29 is nearly a minute and half quicker compared to his best time of 19:55 in the previous season showing the results of a hard summer of training.
