Connor Conquers!

Connor Findlay left the best for last, winning the final race of the Bendigo Athletic Club Kid’s Series season at No. 7 Reservoir in Kangaroo Flat on Sunday morning.  Connor ran his fastest time for the year, improving on his previous best by 5 seconds for the 1 kilometre distance.

Connor never looked like losing and crossed the line 4 seconds clear of the consistent Baxter Parker with Baxter’s brother Jack Parker a further 4 seconds back in third place.

No Points, Just a Sash and Some Cash

No 7 Reservoir in Kangaroo Flat is the venue this Sunday for the 13th race of the Bendigo Athletic Club cross-country season, the Rising Sun Hotel 3200 metres Handicap.  This race is different from the others on the Club calendar in that place-getters will receive no points in any of the club awards, nor will they suffer any penalties in the following week’s season ending Flack Advisory Dick Kitt Memorial Final.

Shanahan Fires at Wellsford Rifle Range!

Veteran athlete Kevin Shanahan has produced his best run for a number of seasons to take out race 12 of the Bendigo Athletic Club’s cross country season.  The Carl Barkmeyer Electrics 5km handicap event had proven hard to predict a winner however in the end Shanahan won convincingly and fairly comfortably too holding out another pre race favourite Kane Ellis by 24 seconds.  Rounding out the top three was Rick Ermel who is another veteran athlete enjoying some return to form after being held back with injuries.

Isabella Again!

Possibly the most improved athlete of the 2015 Bendigo Children’s Series Isabella Ellis charged to her second win of the season at the East Bendigo Rifle Range on Sunday morning.

Running strongly from the front Isabella gave her pursuers no chance and never looked like being headed before crossing the line 8 seconds clear of the consistent Connor Findlay with last week’s winner Ava Stewart a further 3 seconds back in third place.

Is Kane Able to Win?

The East Bendigo Rifle Range in Pratts Park Rd. is the venue this Sunday for the twelfth and final points scoring race of the Bendigo Athletic Club cross-country season, the Carl Barkmeyer Electrics 5000 metres Handicap.
