Ben Comes Goode!

Bendigo school teacher Ben Goode taught the rest of the field a lesson when claiming the second heat of the Bendigo Athletic Club’s Flack Advisory Grand Prix Series at No. 7 Reservoir in Kangaroo Flat on Sunday.  With a perfectly timed run Ben hit the front just over 100 metres from the line and finished strongly in an excellent time of 14:35 for the 4k distance.

One Start One Win for Connor!

In the Junior 1K event held today first-starter Connor Roulston won from Oliver Stewart with Isabella Ellis filling 3rd place.  Oliver has two thirds and a second from his 3 starts and has his eyes on the main prize next week, but with Isabella getting back to her best form he won’t have it all his own way.

Livinia Shows Plenty of Heart(s)

In the Junior 1K event Livinia Douglass improved her time by 28 seconds from last week to leave rest of the field struggling in her wake.  Livinia passed Georgia Ryan 100 metres from home to claim victory in the second Junior race of the season.

Georgia claimed 2nd place with the consistent Oliver Stewart filling 3rd place for the second week in a row.  Oliver will be looking to move up in the placings next week but will struggle to catch the improving Georgia.

Lachlan Leads the Way!

First year runner Lachlan Perdon claimed the first heat of the Bendigo Athletic Club’s Flack Advisory Grand Prix Series at No. 7 Reservoir in Kangaroo Flat on Sunday.  In a closely contested race Lachlan won by 6 seconds with the next 12 runners separated by only 15 seconds.

Perhaps the most satisfying part of the victory for Lachlan was that, having started off the same handicap as his father, Club President Mark, the younger Perdon bested the old man by an emphatic 42 seconds.

Grand Prix is the Grand Prize

No. 7 Reservoir at Kangaroo Flat is the venue this Sunday for the first race of the Flack Advisory Grand Prix Series to be run over 3 kilometres.

A new concept on the Bendigo cross-country calendar, the Series comprises 3 heats over 3k, 4k and then 5k to be run on April 17, 24 and May 1.  The series then culminates in a Final to be run over 5k on May 15.
