The East Bendigo Rifle Range in Pratts Park Rd. is the venue this Sunday for the twelfth and final points scoring race of the Bendigo Athletic Club cross-country season, the Carl Barkmeyer Electrics 5000 metres Handicap.

It’s almost impossible to pick a winner for this week’s event.  The favourite is Kane Ellis but he’s expected to have stiff competition from Chook Stewart, Ingrid Douglass, Kevin Shanahan, Rob McDonald and Daniel Plowright who are all capable of turning the tables on him.  Both Kane and Ingrid are returning from last week’s Sydney City-to-Surf and should find the drop in distance and the flatter course to their liking.

The senior race will commence at 10:30am and will be preceded by a Children’s Race over 1000 metres at 10am.  Last week in the Kid’s race Ava Stewart notched her first win of the season and this time Isabella Ellis, Baxter Parker and Ava Bibby are expected to fight the race out.
