Mandurang Cricket Ground is the venue this Sunday for the second race of the Bendigo Athletic Club cross-country season, the John Burke 6500 metres Handicap.
Race favourite is Catholic College teacher Ben Goode. The consistent Goode ran a string of seconds last year without ever breaking through for a win and this is his chance to go one better.
His main competition this week will be younger rival Kyall Britten and talented veteran Phil Noden. However with 1st Prize of $250 up for grabs there should be plenty of runners pushing for victory.
The senior race will commence at 10:30am and will be preceded by the Children’s Race over 1000 metres at 10am. This event looks like one for the ladies with it hard to pick between Ava Bibby and Isabella Ellis.
