RIP Bill Kitt and Ian Colston

Since the end of the season the Bendigo Athletic Club has lost two friends who had deep and long-lasting connections with the Club.

Bill Kitt, known to most members as the man who has been the starter of the Dick Kitt Memorial Final for many years passed away in October as the result of an accident.  Bill's father Dick was the Handicapper of the BAC for many years in the Club's formative years and as a mark of the esteem he was held in by the Club the Aggregate Final was named for him.  To continue the Kitt family's connection with our Club Bill has made himself available each year to start the race named in honour of his father.

The BAC's Best Clubperson trophy is the Ian Colston Perpetual Trophy, named in honour of one of the founding club members.  Ian moved away from Bendigo many years ago but has maintained his connection with the Club, regularly attending Presentation Night's and Club Functions over the years.

Ian passed away early this month and our Club was well represented at his funeral.

The President and members of the Bendigo Athletic Club note with sadness the passing of our friends Bill and Ian and have passed our condolences and respects to the Kitt and Colston families.
