In the Children’s 1km race on Sunday Ava Stewart finally broke through for her first win of the year after finishing second in her last two attempts.  In what was a great race to watch, Baxter Parker hit the lead early on and looked the one to beat.  Baxter kept answering the challenges but with about 30 metres to go he started tiring and Ava stormed past to win an exciting race by three seconds.  Isabella Ellis also came flying home finishing just a further two seconds back to take third place.  Baxter Parker, Jack Parker and Isabella ran PB’s while Ava Stewart also ran fastest for the girls in 4.37 minutes while Connor Findlay 4.34 minutes was quickest for the boys.
