Mandurang Cricket Ground is the venue this Sunday for the eleventh race of the Bendigo Athletic Club cross-country season, the Rising Sun Hotel 6500 metres Handicap.

Last week’s second-placegetter Kane Ellis is the hot favourite but Chook Stewart and Ingrid Douglass are expected to be breathing down his neck when the finish comes in sight.  Those three won’t have it all their own way either, with in-form runners Reza Azimi, Kevin Shanahan and Gab Sait also planning to spring a surprise.

The senior race will commence at 10:30am and will be preceded by a Children’s Race over 1000 metres at 10am.  Last week in the Kid’s race Matthew Noden notched his second win of the season and this time Isabella Ellis, Baxter Parker and Ava Stewart are expected to fight this one out.
