Matthews Makes His Mark!

Luke Matthews has put in a PB to be a deserving and popular winner for Race 6 of the BAC season, held out at Crusoe Reservoir over a distance of 6.5klm.

Luke held off a determined Andrew Sait who ran brilliantly to finish second, and almost claimed another win for the Shepparton crew. Third place went to Race 3 winner Kerry Ellis who also ran a PB over the distance.  Amongst the many runners who were left in Kerry's wake was her husband Kane (again).  It's been clearly established who the running star is in the Ellis household!

Amelia Takes the Win!

Amelia Boase has followed on from her brother's win in our previous race to take the honours in Race 6 of the Kids 1klm run today held out at Crusoe Reservoir.

Finishing a close second was Olivia Gaskin, who started off the same handicap as the winner, the two enjoying a great tussle for the whole race. Third place went to Milly Rose Goodall-Hoffman, who has really improved as the season goes on.

Full list of finishers below. Next Sunday we are out at the Huntly Livestock Exchange.

Amanda Heads the Herd!

Race 5 of the BAC season was won in convincing style by Amanda Heard. Starting from a10 minute handicap Amanda ran strongly right from the start with a mission of making it another win for the Shepparton Crew. Amazingly, Amanda is the fourth runner this season from the Crew who make the impressive weekly trip from Shepparton to run with the BAC. It sure is paying off for them in 2019, well deserved to all.

Father Goes Best

After son Josh and daughter Gab won early races in the Bendigo Athletic Club cross-country season the pressure was on their father Tony Sait in Race 4 over 8k at the Woodvale Recreation Reserve on Sunday.  Displaying nerves of steel Tony just lasted to grab the win by 4 seconds from fast-finishing Luke Matthews with the ever-reliable Aaron Norton third.

In the 3k event Kylie Stevenson ran 19:20 to win from Cherie Gastin (19:56) with third place going to Justine Graham (20:24).
