No Looking Back for Jack

Jack Parker stormed to his second win of the season in the Childrens' IK race held at Notley's Reserve on Sunday July 26.  Jack improved his fastest time for the distance by 9 seconds, and that was exactly the margin by which he beat his brother Baxter into second place.

Baxter just held off an improving Isabella Ellis who finished only 3 seconds behind him.  Connor Findlay filled fourth place ahead of Fastest Time runner Emma Gilligan.  Emma has also been the fastest girl in 7 of the 8 races she's competed in this season.

Not Easy at Notley's

Bendigo Athletic Club’s next race is the Viatek 6.5Km handicap event on Sunday, July 26th at Notley’s Reserve in the Whipstick Forest.  In a season in which winners have been difficult to pick this race promises to be a tipster's nightmare.

Hilso finds his Mojo!

Classy veteran runner Greg Hilson has taken out Race 8 of the Bendigo Athletic Club’s cross country season to claim victory by the slender margin of just 2 seconds!  .  Hilson ran a strong and convincing race which was sponsored by the Boundary Hotel at No.

Connor Charges Clear

In the Children’s 1k Race at No. 7 Reservoir on Sunday Connor Findlay, who finished second at his last start, proved that was no fluke by going one better this time collecting his first victory of the season.  Finishing two seconds behind Connor, Ava Stewart was runner-up for the second time in a row and is now the hot favourite to win the next event.

The winner of the previous event Isabella Ellis again ran strongly for third place, holding off Emma Gilligan who finished fourth and ran the fastest time of 3:49 for the 1k distance.

Local Boy to Make Good?

No. 7 Reservoir at Kangaroo Flat is the venue this Sunday for the eighth race of the Bendigo Athletic Club cross-country season, the Boundary Hotel 3000 metres Handicap.  The hot favourite for the race is local Kangaroo Flat runner John Bailey.

Bailey is in excellent form having finished second in the last two Club races and needs to break through for a win.  John is unlikely to have it all his own way however with plenty of others, led by Brett Gilligan and Kane Ellis, looking to upstage him and grab the win and the accompanying $250.
