Demi Demolishes at Wellsford

Demi Goodall-Hoffman has run an excellent race to take out race 12 of the Bendigo athletic club.

A field of 20 lined up for the 5km at Wellsford Rifle Range where runners were met with warmth and sunshine compared to last Sunday’s wet and cold conditions.

Goodall-Hoffman was the 4th runner to leave the start and immediately set off at a strong pace to catch the three runners ahead of her.

Approaching the halfway mark, Goodall-Hoffman ascended into 2nd place, overtaking Carol Stewart and Kerry Ellis.

Georgia takes two!

Georgia White has ran a great race in the juniors to win the race by more than 30 seconds. This marks Georgia’s second win for the season, with Georgia winning earlier back in the season at the Huntly livestock exchange.

In 2nd place was Harper-Lee Basten who managed to hold off the fastest runner, Isabella Ellis, who ran onto 3rd.

Next in placings was Freya White followed by first time runner Millie-Rose Goodall-Hoffman who ran well for her first race to finish in 5th spot.

Another new runner coming through was Alexander Basten, who ran a good race to finish in 6th.

Change of Venue for Race 12

Due to a scheduling clash Sunday August 13th's Race 12 has had to moved from Marong to the Wellsford Rifle Range at the corner of Pratts's Park and Strickland Rds., East Bendigo.

All members are asked to pass this info on to anyone who they think may not have heard of the change.

Shanahan Rubs Down the Competition

After finishing the runner up in the last two club races, Masseur/Naturopath Kevin Shanahan has finally claimed victory in race 11 of the Bendigo Athletic Club season.

Sunday’s conditions were wet, windy and cold for the 19 runners that lined up for the 6.5km run at Crusoe reservoir, however this didn’t faze the brave Shanahan, who brushed off the cold to blitz the field.

Shanahan started off in the middle of the field and quickly went to work passing the likes of Mark Perdon and Chook Stewart before passing another stretch of runners being led by Kane Ellis and Tony Sait.
